He replaces Jaap van Wessum, who has decided to “move on to a new challenge,” according to the company. Wessum has spent more than 20 years in various functions at Apollo Vredestein, the last six as head of sales. Van Wessum will remain with the company long enough to ensure a smooth transition.
Urban has a wealth of experience in the automotive sector, with 22 years of experience in marketing, sales and management functions. Most recently, he was product business unit director and marketing director for consumer tires for Goodyear Dunlop’s Middle East and Africa Regions.
“With his wealth of knowledge and experience within the tire industry, he is sure to become a driving force in the development in our business in Europe,” says Mathias Heimann, president of the company’s Region Europe & Americas.
